12 Resolution Times

365 days ago, we said the very words we do today: Happy new year! 🥳

If you think about it, humans make a pretty big drama for every new year – we just made up periods of time and must be really tired of the past year if we celebrate New Year’s eve so much! I guess it’s partly the satisfaction of completing a longer period of time and that’s why we don’t celebrate every month or week. My new day’s morning party is breakfast! What about yours?🧇 🍳 🥞

Everyone has tried to make new year’s resolutions like “study every day” or “maximum screen time of 1 hour” and failed miserably.😑

Isn’t it strange that in the moment where we have control over our actions, in the present, we don’t really care so much, even though we know that we will tear ourselves apart for the rest of the year and question our self worth? Ok wow that sounds dramatic. But you get the point. 😁

Mostly we feel overwhelmed by the long time in which we must stay disciplined every single day – no wonder, 365 or even 366 is a lot of days! What about 30 days, though?

I guess you’re slowly understanding the point of my post.😉

I recommend making resolutions every month to make our goals seem less monstrous. E.g., after failing to drink 2 litres of water daily the first month, you can decide to lower the difficulty of your resolution in the second month and drink 1 1/2 litres per day the first two weeks, 1 3/4 litres per day the third week and finally 2 litres per day the last. 💧🙂

This way, when you fail you don’t have to wait so long till you can start again with a clean slate! 👍🏽

Thanks for reading my post and happy new year! (And yes it was intended not to mention COVID to much)

See you next time! 😙
